2-Player Bamboo Balloon Fighting Game

A tactile, two-person competitive game featuring two hand-carved bamboo puppets, each measuring 25 cm in height and built from laminated bamboo strips for structural resilience. Each puppet has a fixed base (10 × 10 cm footprint), a vertical torso post, and a single movable arm connected via a friction-fit bamboo pin joint. The balloon mounts directly onto a 3 cm tall, rounded bamboo head post — compatible with standard 12 cm latex party balloons. Total weight per puppet: 180 g. Includes 10 biodegradable latex balloons (natural rubber, not synthetic). No glue, screws, or metal parts — purely bamboo and elastic tension. Play begins with both players inflating and securing balloons, then taking positions 1.2 m apart. Using only hand pressure on the puppet’s rear lever, players swing the arm forward to strike — success depends on angle, force control, and anticipation of opponent movement. Matches encourage laughter, light strategy (e.g., feinting, tempo changes), and non-verbal communication — all without shouting, screens, or scoring devices. Developed for UK living rooms, holiday cottages, and café entertainment zones — compact enough for shelf display, robust enough for weekly use, and quiet enough for shared housing environments.
