Adjustable LM2596 Buck Module with Digital Voltmeter

This compact LM2596-based DC-DC buck converter accepts 2.5V–40V DC input and delivers smoothly adjustable 1.25V–37V output at up to 3A. Dimensions: 45mm × 27mm × 13mm; weight: ~15g. PCB uses FR-4 substrate with quality electrolytic capacitors and a high-efficiency switching design operating at 150kHz. The front-panel digital voltmeter reads ±0.1V within 4–40V range (requires ≥4V input to power up), toggles between IN/OUT measurement via tactile buttons with status LEDs, and retains mode selection after reboot. Terminals are screw-type for secure, solderless connection; solder pads are preserved for alternative mounting. Input includes reverse-polarity protection diode. Safety features include overheat and short-circuit shutdown. Efficiency reaches up to 92%; output ripple is minimised through low-noise layout and filtering. For sustained loads >15W, supplemental heatsinking is recommended.
