Green 5S Li-Ion Protection Module

A compact, green PCB-mounted protection board built specifically for 5-cell series lithium-ion battery packs used in cordless power tools. Compatible with 18V–21V systems, it supports total charge voltages of 19V or 21V and per-cell voltages of 3.8V or 4.25V. The integrated 5S-dedicated IC continuously measures each cell’s voltage, combined charge/discharge current, and surrounding temperature. It delivers responsive overcharge, over-discharge, and short-circuit protection — with a defined 1-second delay on overcharge detection to prevent nuisance tripping during normal charging transients. Power efficiency is prioritised: ~25µA operational current and ~6µA quiescent draw ensure minimal impact on pack longevity. Note: Requires correct wiring and one-time activation; does not substitute for a lithium-ion charger.
