M16x2.0 HSS Straight Flute Tap

This set includes 2 pieces of M16×2.0 metric straight flute hand taps, made from high-speed steel (HSS) for enhanced hardness, toughness and wear resistance. Each tap measures approximately 120 mm in total length with a thread length of 32 mm and a shank diameter of 10 mm; total weight per tap is approx. 145 g. The precision-ground straight flutes ensure clean chip evacuation during through-hole tapping, supporting consistent, accurate thread formation. Designed for manual use with ratchet-style tap wrenches, they feature a standard ISO metric thread profile (6H tolerance class). Ideal for use on ferrous and non-ferrous metals including mild steel (A3), stainless steel, copper, brass, alloy steel and abrasive steels — always paired with suitable coolant such as water or cutting oil to maximise tool life.
