M42 Macro Extension Tubes Set

This M42 macro extension tube set includes three precision-machined metal rings: 7mm, 14mm, and 28mm in length. Total weight is minimal for portability, and each tube features durable brass M42 threading for secure, wobble-free mounting between lens and camera body. Designed exclusively for manual-focus SLR systems with M42 mount, the tubes extend the lens-to-sensor distance to enable true close-up photography without optical elements — preserving native lens sharpness and contrast. When used individually or stacked (e.g., 7+14=21mm or 7+14+28=49mm), magnification scales linearly: magnification = extension length ÷ lens focal length (e.g., 28mm tube + 50mm lens ≈ 0.56×; full stack + 50mm lens ≈ 0.98×, approaching 1:1). Aperture must be set manually on the lens before attaching — physical aperture rings on vintage lenses allow full control; lenses without them default to minimum aperture. Manual exposure and focus are required throughout use, with optimal results achieved when the lens front element is positioned just centimetres from the subject.
