NPT Magnesium Anode Rod 4.5Inch

Set of two 4.5 inch (115 mm) long, 0.5 inch (13 mm) diameter magnesium anode rods with 1/2 inch NPT threading. Built using magnesium alloy cladding over a steel core for consistent performance and mechanical resilience. Intended for use with Atwood-branded RV water heaters, particularly model 11553. Includes one roll of PTFE tape (assorted colour, not selectable). These rods extend service life by undergoing controlled corrosion — acting as a ‘sacrificial’ surface that intercepts electrochemical reactions before they attack the heater’s welded steel tank. In practice, this reduces scale buildup around heating elements and inhibits pinhole leaks near tank bases. For UK users: compatible with hard and soft water sources common in motorhome hook-ups and potable water fill points across Europe.
