Turn on the power; the power indicator light will illuminate and the instrument will be ready for use after a few seconds. 2. Place the loose diamond to be tested into the appropriate concave hole of the support tray with its table facing up. For mounted pieces, placement in the tray is not required; hold the item in hand. 3. Several light-emitting diodes will illuminate depending on the characteristics of the stone and the temperature of the testing environment. 4. Remove the probe sheath, hold the instrument, and place the index finger of your right hand on the conductive plate located on the back cover; gently and vertically touch the probe to the table of the stone being tested. 5. Observe the instrument's response carefully. If the yellow LEDs light up and nine diodes illuminate with an accompanying beep, the stone is a genuine diamond. If fewer than nine diodes light up and no beep occurs, the stone is not a natural diamond.
