RS485 DMX512 USB Interface Cable

This USB to DMX512 interface cable converts USB signals into RS485-compliant DMX512 protocol for controlling stage lights, dimmers, and effects units. It is 1.8 m long, constructed with 26AWG 3-core copper wire and a flexible yet resilient PVC outer jacket (diameter 4.0 mm). Internally, it combines the FTDI FT232RL USB UART bridge and the SP485 RS485 transceiver, supporting configurable baud rates from 300 bps to 3 Mbps and half-duplex communication. The unit has no galvanic isolation but includes integrated ESD protection on the RS485 side. It terminates in an XLR 3-pin female socket, matching standard DMX input ports on lighting gear. The onboard 1024-byte EEPROM allows custom device ID programming using MProg 3.5. Drivers are provided for VCP (virtual COM port) and D2XX (direct access) modes, ensuring compatibility with lighting software such as QLC+, Light-O-Rama, and ENTTEC Open DMX-compatible applications on Windows, Linux, macOS, and Android.
