USB 2.0 12.7mm SATA External Optical Drive Case

Compact, self-contained external case for transforming standard 12.7 mm SATA laptop optical drives into reliable USB 2.0 peripherals. Measures 145 × 102 × 24 mm and weighs approx. 280 g. Constructed from UL94-V0 rated ABS plastic with internal steel reinforcement for structural integrity and thermal dissipation. Supports full USB 2.0 bandwidth (480 Mbps), native SATA-I / SATA-II negotiation (1.5 / 3.0 Gbps), and hot-plug functionality. Powered exclusively via USB — no wall adapter required. Compatible with Windows 98SE, ME, 2000, XP, Vista, Windows 7, and macOS 10.0+. Kit includes: one pre-wired SATA interface board, one drive enclosure shell, one snap-fit front panel, two precision-threaded M3 screws, one 1.5 m USB 2.0 A-to-B cable, one Y-type USB power cable, and concise English-language manual with safety notes and pinout reference. All parts undergo 100% continuity and fit-check testing prior to packing in recyclable cardboard box. Engineered for longevity and ease-of-use: front panel detaches cleanly for drive swaps; SATA connector is keyed to prevent reverse insertion; USB cables feature strain relief boots; and internal layout allows airflow around drive PCB — collectively extending usable life beyond typical consumer-grade enclosures.
